"The microfiber footbed treated with Aegis� antimicrobial solution resists odor"--I didn't believe this claim until I started wearing these shoes. No socks used, to get to as close to barefoot as possible, and even after wearing them all day (I don't run in them, I wear them with jeans, cargo pants, long skirts) there is no odor. They look amazing and make my size 9 1/2 feet look smaller. Extremely light and comfortable, but might not be for those who require a "cushy" feel to their shoes. These are minimalist in structure, meant to be as close to treading barefoot as possible. For the past year or so I had been wearing a famous brand's "toning" shoes, which felt cushy and comfortable, but which I'm afraid, contributed to my knee problems. I wore these into the orthopedist office after my meniscus surgery and he commented on how much he liked the shoes, and the Merrell brand in general. If you're a runner and looking to go minimalist (as opposed to barefoot) I believe you could run well in these, but I can't attest to that. I use Nike Free (minimalist running shoes) for my daily walks, and reserve these for comfortable fashion. They seem to be very well made, and I expect them to last a really long time. If they weren't so pricey, I'd get the other colors, too.
